How long, O Lord

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Must we wait for justice?
Hope for healing
Yearn for freedom
Desire deliverance?
We cry out to heaven
With tears and groans and prayers
That repeat the prophet’s plea
“How long?”

Not now. Not yet.
So we cry out all the more
Till God hears us and gives answer.

Exhausted, discouraged, spent,
On the brink of despair
We hear a newborn babe
And all is well
All is ready
All is yes.
